MPWF facilitates several events and activities in the DFW region to highlight the rich cultural diversity of Asian Americans and their contributions to the attractive life style offered in North Texas. Many people recognize our initial outreach event, the Dragon Boat Kite and Lantern Festival. This festival, established in 2007, brings together thousands of people every May to Lake Caroline Irving, TX to celebrate international culture. Other Outreach program activities include partnering with other DFW community organizations to share the celebration of the Lunar New Year, a new and exciting event, the International Youth Engagement Symposium. This event, focusing on mentoring combined with leadership development, seeks to match high achieving students with at risk populations.
MPWF awards scholarships to DFW students who show dedication to promoting intercultural understanding and by serving the community through volunteerism. This program's primary focus on volunteerism, creates a major difference from other scholarship efforts. For more information about the scholarship program, please visit us on our social media and website locations.
This program facilitates the identification and placement of deserving DFW students and young people into participating businesses and organizations. Staff works year round to maintain a roster of available and capable interns to benefit both the intern and the host. Placements are made in the time frame to benefit participating entities, and may be customized to optimize needs.
With its diverse background, Marco Polo World Foundation brings introductory culture courses to school districts in the DFW Metroplex and celebrate Asian-Pacific American heritage with children of all ages.
